One more example of the career path from in-house lawyer to CFO has taken shape this week, at a company making headlines for it’s biggest-ever acquisition.

Amy Weaver, the chief legal officer of San Francisco-based Salesforce, has been named to become the software company’s chief financial officer, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday. The announcement came on the same day Salesforce announced it would be acquiring the workplace messaging app Slack for $27.7 billion.
