A Canadian cannabis company announced Wednesday the hiring of an experienced in-house attorney to lead its legal function.

Linda Menzel will be general counsel at the Ontario-based Ignite International Brands Ltd. with a base in Toronto, according to the press release. It is not clear if Menzel is the company’s first general counsel or if she replaced someone. The company did not immediately return requests for comment.
