After more than two decades as general counsel and senior vice president of Canadian plane and train maker Bombardier Inc., Daniel Desjardins is preparing to embark on a new journey away from the company’s legal department.

Beginning next year, Desjardins will begin serving as an adviser to Bombardier CEO Alain Bellemare and also chair the board of directors for Bombardier Transportation, one of the world’s largest rail-equipment manufacturers. His successor, Alain Rondeau, has been a consultant at Bombardier for the past year.
