Call for Nominations: National Women in Law Awards 2018

Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel are seeking nominations for candidates for its upcoming National Women in Law Awards, which honors general counsel, deputy general counsel, and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in corporate law. Honorees will be awarded at an awards dinner on Oct. 3 as part of our Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference that week.

These awards will recognize North American women general counsel and law firm leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen as they have guided their organizations through often treacherous roads to achieve success. These award honorees stand out because they are business strategists, complex problem-solvers, and of course, great lawyers. And as important (especially to them) is that they are great people-leaders—they care more about the success of the team than their individual success. We are seeking nominations of women general counsel and women law firm partners in the following categories:

• Innovative Leaders - Women who are the thinkers, the idea women. Women who are looked at as the ones impacting change and developing new strategies for better solutions.
• Thought Leadership - Women who focus on how true leadership can change the world. It is their passion and drive to have a successful department/team through their outstanding leadership skills.
• Collaborative Leadership - Women who stand out as working well with others – the “team players.”
• Transformative Leadership Awards - Women who are truly able to put in place important and lasting changes in their organization/firm.
• General Counsel of the Year/Managing Partner of the Year - Women who have had a huge, impactful year. A year that stands out among their peers.

Hundreds of guests, in-house counsel, law firm partners and legal consultants will gather in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 3, 2018 to honor the empowerment and diversity of general counsel and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing women in corporate law. The awards dinner will precede the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference that week on Oct. 4-5, 2018. The WIPL Conference is the original global forum facilitating women-to-women exchange on leadership and legal issues. The Executive Leadership Forum will take place earlier in the day on Oct. 3.
