Brian Craig, general counsel of Digital Barriers Services in London for the last three years, is an American who went abroad as an in-house counsel with Lockheed Martin and ended up becoming a British solicitor.

His company, Digital Barriers, is a software and cloud services technology firm that manages the capture, analysis and streaming of images and live video. Much of its sales, especially of facial recognition software, are to law enforcement or the military in some 50 countries. But Craig said businesses, such as hotels and sports organizations, also buy the software to easily spot and expedite VIP customers—casinos even use it to recognize and block troublemakers.
