The Golden State Warriors is one of the greatest NBA teams of all time, burning up the court with record-high 3-point shots and repeated championship appearances. Off the court, the larger Warriors organization is making moves of its own, negotiating salaries and working out logistics for the team's new arena in San Francisco.
That's where David Kelly comes in.
As the Warriors' GC, he has one of the coolest jobs in sports law. Kelly, a graduate of University of Illinois College of Law, joined the team in 2012, shortly after making partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman.
Law.com's Corporate Counsel sat down with Kelly to ask about his day-to-day, what surprised him most about the job and the client-first career advice he holds on to: “Lawyers, we aren't the show. Clients are the show.”
