Description

This program is a primer on the legal issues surrounding the development and production of independent motion pictures. Topics covered will include securing rights to the economics of flat fees, navigation of union, guild, and collection account agreements, negotiation of talent and above-the-line deals, and pitfalls of clearance and location issues.

This webinar will help you determine whether or not production law makes sense as an economic model for your practice, and how to assist your client at the outset of a production to prevent the snowballing of legal issues during production or upon delivery. You will learn how to spot potential legal pitfalls during the course of development and production of a motion picture. Faculty will discuss which deals and agreements should be negotiated over the course of a production, and how to prepare and finalize them in the most efficient manner.

This program was recorded on November 14th, 2017.
