Description

Federal development and subsidy assistance programs make construction of affordable housing financially viable. However, the complexities of complying with the federal construction requirements incumbent to federal funds complicate the process. The panelists will consider means to navigate disputes that commonly arise during construction of affordable housing, such as delays, change orders, cost overruns and liquidated damages. Attendees will hear from a HUD Economic Opportunities and Labor Standards enforcement representative, a PHA design and construction representative, a general contractor and developer counsel, a PHA counsel and an affordable housing developer.
