Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP

Mimi leads the Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP (Deloitte FAS) Forensic practice in Southern California. She is a CPA in California and has over 24 years of experience working with clients, audit committees and their counsel on forensic investigations, anti-corruption and complex disputes. She has extensive experience conducting royalty licensing inspections and serving as an expert witness in matters that draw upon her experience. While Mimi has worked in many industries, her work has focused on health care & life sciences, technology and telecommunications. She served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Deloitte FAS and Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP. Mimi led the development and oversight of Deloitte FAS’ pro bono program over the past nine years through which pro bono projects were delivered utilizing the capabilities of Deloitte FAS professionals to increase the reach, impact and sustainability of non-profit organizations.

Genevieve Wachtell

General Counsel

Eve Wachtell is General Counsel of AltSchool, an education and tech company based in Silicon Valley with a mission to help all children achieve their potential. Its team of educators, researchers and engineers is developing a technology platform designed to “superpower” teachers and help students drive their own learning. Through its network of lab and partner schools, AltSchool is building and testing the platform before expanding to schools nationwide.

Since AltSchool’s founding in 2013, Ms. Wachtell has provided legal oversight and company-wide legal support in matters including state and federal school regulation, data and children’s privacy issues, intellectual property and licensing, financing and partnerships, risk management, corporate governance and fiduciary responsibilities, B Corp certification and other public benefit corporation obligations, employment law and public policy.

Ms. Wachtell is also Treasurer of the New York Civil Liberties Union (the ACLU of New York) and the NYCLU Foundation. In that capacity, she directs investment policy, monitors investment portfolios, and reports to the Board on all financial matters including quarterly revenue and expenses.

Before joining AltSchool, Ms. Wachtell was Acting Director (2013) and Associate Director (2010 – 2012) of the Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families and an adjunct professor at New York Law School. She began her legal career as an Associate in the Corporate, Finance and Tax group at Hogan Lovells, formerly Hogan & Hartson (2008 – 2010).

She has a J.D. from NYU School of Law (2008) and a B.A. in English literature with a Pennsylvania teaching certificate from Swarthmore College (2003).
