The world of cybersecurity is complex and constantly evolving, and the legal landscape surrounding cybersecurity is also rapidly changing. With new laws and regulations being introduced to keep pace with emerging threats, this session aims to bridge the gap between legal and cybersecurity professionals. Maggie Warren

Maggie is Senior Vice President, General Counsel for Vertafore, Inc., the leading provider of software and technology services to the insurance industry headquartered in Denver. In this role she has 3 teams reporting to her: Legal, Privacy and Compliance, and Cybersecurity. She and her team are responsible for supporting mergers and acquisitions; litigation management; compliance including regulatory, privacy and data security; labor and employment; corporate governance; management of outside counsel; product development, including intellectual property; commercial real estate; and complex commercial transactions.
Previously, Maggie was Associate General Counsel with Clarivate Analytics, formerly the IP and Science Division of Thomson Reuters, where she was responsible for privacy and data security compliance, complex commercial transactions, labor and employment, business strategy and product development for a global corporation.
Maggie supports the in-house community by mentoring a law student intern multiple times throughout the year and is an active member of the Colorado chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Other volunteer work is dedicated to the high school performing arts and athletic departments as well as the community swim team.
Maggie earned her juris doctorate cum laude from Western Michigan University and her undergraduate bachelor of the arts from the University of Colorado. She is licensed and a member of the bar association in both Colorado and Michigan.

Jenny Holmes is the deputy leader of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Privacy team. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), a preeminent credential in the field of privacy.
Jenny advises clients on the ever-changing legal landscape of data privacy and cybersecurity law. She develops and implements system- wide privacy and security plans and creates response plans that address the mandates of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the NY SHIELD Act, among others.

"Gail is a Vice President in the Legal Department at Del Monte Fresh Produce, where she is responsible for Global Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Government Relations. She is an expert on the cybersecurity, privacy, and legal issues associated the data collected and used by emerging technologies including AI, biometric devices and sensors, autonomous vehicles, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and the metaverse. She is also one of the few defense lawyers to have been involved in the trial of a class action to verdict before a jury.
Gail has taught Law for Knowledge Innovation at Columbia University and is a Fellow at the Center for Legal Innovation at Vermont Law School. She has taught technology law courses for judges at the National Judicial College and the New York State Judicial Institute, and has guest lectured on vehicle data regulation at Stanford University, the Wharton School, and Interpol.
Gail founded and leads the Cybersecurity Subcommittee of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Technology and the Legal Profession and is a former Chairperson of that Committee. She also serves at Co-Chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers’ Intellectual Property & Technology Affinity Group.
An internationally recognized thought leader, Gail served as a peer reviewer for Interpol’s Framework for Responding to a Drone Incident and was a speaker at Interpol’s 2019 Car Cyber Threats Expert Group Meeting. A member of the Atomium – European Institute for Science, Media and Democracy’s AI4People Automotive Committee, she co-authored a paper, AI4People: Ethical Guidelines for the Automotive Sector – Fundamental Requirements and Practical Recommendations, that was published in the International Journal of Technoethics (Volume 12, Issue 1, January-June 2021). She is also a member of the ITU’s Focus Group on AI for Autonomous and Assisted Driving and a contributor to its recently published report, Automated Driving Safety Data Protocol – Ethical and Legal Considerations of Continual Monitoring.
Gail was selected as one the Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2017 Women Worth Watching in STEM and one of the Connecticut Technology Council’s 2016 Women of Innovation. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and served as a law clerk in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.

Jennifer K. Mailander is a Privacy and Data professional with extensive and diverse experience in advising executives and Boards of Directors on global privacy, cybersecurity, risk management, regulatory compliance and technology matters in the mortgage, AdTech, business services, cloud technology, and consumer products areas. Ms. Mailander is currently Senior Director and Deputy General Counsel at Fannie Mae, a leading source of financing for mortgage lenders providing access to affordable mortgage financing for millions of Americans. She also sits on the board of directors for Spirion, a technology company focused on helping companies locate and secure their data. Ms. Mailander is a founding member and former Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Women in the House (WITH) network and currently serves as co-chair of the DC chapter of The Quorum Initiative.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Ms. Mailander was Associate General Counsel of Privacy at ComScore in Reston, VA and Associate General Counsel and Director of Compliance & Privacy at Corporation Service Company (CSC) in Wilmington, DE. She actively volunteers supporting Fannie Mae’s pro bono efforts and the Dumbarton House museum in Washington, DC.

Ms. Mailander attended the University of Dayton School of Law and Miami University for her graduate and undergraduate degrees.
