Survey & Rankings

A-List

About the Survey

The A-List, published annually in July, is based on rankings taken from four ALM surveys that ALM Legal Intelligence conducts throughout the year. Both revenue per lawyer and pro bono ranks are taken from the Am Law 200 while the Diversity Scorecard) and the Midlevel Associates Survey provide the diversity and associate satisfaction ranks, respectively. The A-List formula provides a collective measurement of the most successful and committed firms in the United States.

    The A-List Top 20

    americanlawyer | July 27, 2017

This chart details the breakdown of how each of our 20 A-List firms fared in five key categories: diversity, pro bono, revenue per lawyer, associate satisfaction and the percentage of female equity partners. Scores for RPL and pro bono are weighted twice. This is the first year we have included a score for the percentage of female equity partners. It is also the first year we switched our scoring system to a 100-point scale.
