Thirteen Brisbane-based lawyers have left Herbert Geer for Colin Biggers & Paisley.
The group, which is led by partners Ian Wright, Samantha Hall and Ben Caldwell, comprised Herbert Geer’s planning, government, infrastructure and environment team.
Wright will serve as head of Colin Biggers & Paisley’s planning and environment team. He typically represents government agencies and developers on matters related to residential, commercial and industrial projects. Wright joined Herbert Geer as a partner for about five years ago from Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where he had been a partner for 15 years.
Hall and Caldwell both joined Herbert Geer with Wright from Corrs Chambers, where they were associates.
The move comes just a month after Colin Biggers & Paisley first entered the Brisbane market by merging with local firm Hemming + Hart. Including the newly joined team from Herbert Geer, Colin Biggers & Paisley now has 110 lawyers in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
