Baker & McKenzie has hired a corporate finance team of at least eight partners, two of counse,l and 10 associates for its Madrid office from Spanish firm Ramon y Cajal Abogados. Partners FRANCISCO BAUZA, RAFAEL BAZAN, and CARLOS GUTIERREZ will practice banking and finance law, ALBERTO UREBA, FERNANDO DIAZ, GUILLERMO GUERRA, and FERNANDO MARROQUIN will be in the mergers and acquisitions practice, and CARLOS CALVO will work for the firm's dispute resolution and arbitration group. ANTONIO RONCERO will be of counsel for the mergers and acquisitions department, and JOSE AYALA has been hired as of counsel for the dispute resolution and arbitration practice.

Bracewell & Giuliani's energy regulatory practice has added ROBERT PEASE as senior counsel in its Washington, D.C., office. Pease joins from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he worked as counsel to the director of its enforcement division. Earlier in his career he spent more than 20 years at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

WENDY KEARNS is now a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine’s technology transactions and mergers and acquisitions practice in Seattle. For the past six years she was at a boutique technology firm she helped found, Snodgrass Kearns, which became Snodgrass Annand with her departure.

In Chicago, LESLIE DAVIS has left Dentons for Drinker Biddle & Reath's commercial litigation practice group. Davis focuses on complex commercial litigation, including nationwide class actions, torts, and media cases.

Dykema Gossett has hired litigator BRIAN MELENDEZ as a member in its Minneapolis office. Melendez, who practices in the areas of commercial and consumer finance litigation, was previously at Faegre Baker Daniels.

Haynes and Boone has added three attorneys to its real estate practice in San Antonio, all from Winstead. FRANK RUTTENBERG has joined as a partner, and ELIZABETH BREAZEALE and ANDREW BAUMGARDNER have come on as of counsel.

Hogan Lovells has launched a Luxembourg office with a six-lawyer team. Partners PIERRE REUTER and JEAN-MICHEL SCHMIT have come over with four associates to work for the firm's investment and corporate practices. All previously worked at European law firm NautaDutilh.

The former director of biofuels and biomass policy for the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington, D.C., has joined Husch Blackwell's energy and natural resource team. SARAH CASWELL is now senior counsel in the firm's Omaha office.

RICHARD JOHNSON has left government service and a position as assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Texas to work for Jones Day. He joins the firm as a cyber crime and intellectual property of counsel in its Dallas office.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton now counts MARK RIEDY as a mergers and acquisitions and securities counsel in its Washington, D.C., office. He joins from Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips has grabbed DONNA WILSON, a litigation and privacy data security attorney, from BuckleySandler. Wilson is now a partner in Los Angeles.

MARGARET PEMBERTON has joined Norton Rose Fulbright as senior counsel in its Austin office. Before coming to Norton Rose Fulbright's regulatory practice, she was the director of legal services at the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

EDWARD DARTLEY is now of counsel with Pepper Hamilton's funds services and financial services practice groups in New York. He left an in-house position with The Huff Group, an investment management firm.

Saul Ewing has hired GLENN FOX has a partner in its Philadelphia office. Fox will work for the firm's business and finance department, focusing on the heath, corporate and tax practices. Fox has moved over from Nachmias Morris & Altpc

Sedgwick has expanded its real estate and finance practice in San Francisco with the hire of LAURIE GUSTAFSON. Previously with San Francisco firm Stein & Lubin, Gustafson will be a partner at Sedgwick.

Construction lawyer GABE ROEHRENBECK has rejoined Thompson Hine as a partner in Columbus. He last worked for Thompson Hine as a senior associate, leaving in April 2012 for Welin, O'Shaughnessy & Scheaf.

GRAHAM LANE is slated to join Willkie Farr & Gallagher as a partner in its London office September 1. Most recently with Kirkland & Ellis, Lane will practice in the firm's business reorganization and restructuring department.
