The Boston office of Duane Morris has welcomed back DANIEL WINSLOW, a Massachusetts politician who last worked at Duane Morris as a partner from 2005 to 2010.
Winslow left the firm three years ago to become a Massachusetts state representative, a role he will continue to hold while working as of counsel to Duane Morris in Boston.
Earlier this year, Winslow launched an unsuccessful bid to win the Republican primary to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry when he became U.S. secretary of State. Winslow has also served as former chief legal counsel to then–Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and spent seven years as a Massachusetts trial judge.

Los Angeles–based litigator DOMINIQUE SHELTON has joined Alston & Bird as a partner. Most recently with Edwards Wildman Palmer, Shelton focuses on privacy, unfair competition, and intellectual property matters.
Bingham McCutchen announced the this week the expected hire of THIHA TUN as a partner in London. Tun’s arrival from Herbert Smith Freehills is planned for September. He represents investment funds, investment managers, and others in the funds industry.
Crowell & Moring has two new health care partners in Washington, D.C.: TROY BARSKY, who joins from a policy position at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and CHRISTINE CLEMENTS, a former Crowell & Moring lawyer who most recently served as chief Medicare counsel at Aetna Inc.
Dentons has expanded in Kansas City, Missouri, with the hires of JEFFREY BENNETT and KEVIN BIRD as counsel. Bennett, who represents public and private companies in corporate transactions, governance issues, securities law compliance, and corporate finance matters, last worked as deputy general counsel at transportation company YRC Worldwide Inc. Bird joins the real estate practice from Polsinelli Shughart.
Gardere Wynne Sewell has added MICHAEL STAFFORD and KATHARINE DAVID as partners in its trial practice in Houston. The duo last worked at Haynes and Boone, where Stafford was of counsel and David was an associate. Earlier in his career, Stafford worked in the public sector, including as the attorney for Harris County in Texas.
Tax lawyer BRADLEY MARSH has moved from Winston & Strawn to Greenberg Traurig. Now a shareholder in Greenberg’s San Francisco office, Marsh concentrates on federal, state, and local tax controversy matters.
Greenberg has also added corporate lawyer JODI GOODHEART as a shareholder in Las Vegas. She previously led the Vegas office for Fennemore Craig Jones Vargas.
KEVIN MCCART has jumped from Patton Boggs to Husch Blackwell in Washington, D.C., where he joins as a partner in the white-collar criminal defense and government compliance, investigations, and litigation groups. His resume also includes seven years as a lawyer with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corp.
King & Spalding has added a trio of international arbitration and construction lawyers from Simmons & Simmons. Partner ADRIAN COLE in Abu Dhabi leads the team, which includes counsel RAZA MITHANI in Dubai and one associate.
Longtime government lawyer RUSS SULLIVAN is set to join McGuireWoods as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office July 1. Most recently, Sullivan served from 2004 until his retirement earlier this year as staff director for the Senate Finance Committee. At McGuire, he will also be a senior adviser to the firm’s public affairs subsidiary, McGuireWoods Consulting.
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has poached ALED DAVIES from Allen & Overy, where he was head of that firm’s Asia Pacific projects group. Davies, who works on international energy projects, is slated to join as a partner September 1.
CAROLINE GUEST and URSULA KIENBAUM have jumped from one labor and employment firm to another, joining Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart from Littler Mendelson. Based in Portland, Guest joins as a shareholder and Kienbaum as of counsel.
Ogletree also hired two other lawyers this week: RONALD KREISMANN, a shareholder in New York who was previously a partner at Blank Rome, and STEVEN LUCKNER, a former partner at Coughlin Duffy who joins as a shareholder in Morristown, New Jersey.
