Corrs Chambers Westgarth has recruited a partner for its Melbourne office.

Robert Clarke joins the firm from Allens, where he was also a partner. A mergers and acquisitions lawyer, Clarke focuses on transactions in the infrastructure sector.
In May of last year, he advised a consortium that included Hastings Fund Management and the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board on its $2.3 billion leasing of a desalination plant and pipeline in Sydney.
Clarke joined Allens’ Singapore office as a special counsel in 2004 and was promoted to partner two years later. He served as the firm’s Singapore managing partner from 2008 to 2011 before relocating to Melbourne. Prior to joining Allens, he was special counsel in the now-closed Singapore office of Slaughter and May.
Corrs Chambers’ Melbourne office now comprises about 145 lawyers.* The firm has around 470 lawyers across its Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth offices.
