Ropes & Gray
has hired a capital markets partner for its Hong Kong office.
Victoria Lloyd was most recently the Hong Kong-based head of the Asia capital markets practice for
Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson
. In addition to advising issuers and underwriters on equity capital markets transactions, she also works on mergers and acquisitions and joint venture transactions.
In 2011, she acted for American handbag manufacturer Coach Inc. on a secondary listing in Hong Kong. In the same year, she also advised UBS A.G. and Goldman Sachs as underwriters on the $209 million Hong Kong initial public offering by China NT Pharma Group Co. Ltd., a vaccine and pharmaceutical product distributor in China.
Lloyd joined Fried Frank in 2006 with a group of nine partners from the Hong Kong office of
Simmons & Simmons
. With Lloyd’s departure, eight of those partners have now left Fried Frank and the last, former Asia managing partner Huen Wong, is now a consultant. The New York firm now counts 16 lawyers, including three partners, in Hong Kong.
Boston-based Ropes & Gray launched its Hong Kong office in 2008. It now has 31 lawyers, including 11 partners, in Hong Kong.
