Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has relocated a partner from London to Hong Kong establish an Asia employment practice.
Kathleen Healy specializes in employment issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. Last year, she advised on the employment issues related to PartyGaming Plc.’s merger with bwin Interactive Entertainment AG., which created the world’s largest listed online gaming business worth $2.6 billion.
She has also developed a focus on cross-border restructuring and downsizing projects in the pharmaceutical industry. 
Senior associate Holly Insley will also transfer from London to Hong Kong to work with Healy.
In a statement, Healy said the firm’s move was in response to client demand. “We are seeing a number of our clients, that already have significant operations in Asia, relocating more senior executives to Asia and needing help on increasingly complex cross-regional labour related projects,” she said.
Healy joined Freshfields as an associate in 1997 from U.K. law firm  Wragge & Co. She became a partner in 2004.
