Los Angeles-based Loeb & Loeb has hired a new Beijing partner.

Roger Peng is joining Loeb & Loeb from the Beijing office of Paul Hastings. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital deals. In April, Peng advised Beijing-based asset fund manager CDH Investments on a $32 million investment in Hong Kong-based Tse Sui Luen Jewellery (International) Ltd.
Peng joined Paul Hastings in 2010 from Hogan Lovells, where he was partner. He was the Beijing managing partner for Hogan & Hartson prior to the firm’s merger with Lovells in 2010. Peng practiced in New York before moving to Beijing in 2000.
Loeb & Loeb, which is perhaps best-known for its entertainment law practice, has five U.S. offices. Beijing is its only overseas location. Including Peng, the firm has seven lawyers in Beijing, four of whom are partners.
