Weil, Gotshal & Manges is advising Leucadia National Corporation in a proposed portfolio expansion that will give holding company Leucadia a majority stake in National Beef Packing Company for $867.9 million in cash.
If the transaction is approved, Leucadia would control a nearly 79 percent stake in Kansas-based National Beef, which processes, packages, and distributes beef products that include boxed beef, ground beef, hides, and tallow to retailers and other entities including the U.S. military.
