Korean law firm Yulchon has recruited a corporate partner to its Seoul head office.
Young-Su Shin joined Yulchon last week from another Korean firm, Yoon & Yang. Shin’s main practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and overseas investment. He focuses on advising banks, securities and asset management companies, and insurance companies.
Shin, who joined Yoon & Yang in 2003, previously advised the Korea Development Bank on its partnership with the National Pension Service of Korea, a public pension fund for South Korea, to acquire 66 percent of the former Kumho Life Insurance Co. Ltd., now known as KDB Life Insurance Co. Ltd., for $426 million, last year.
Yulchon, which has around 200 lawyers, has offices in Beijing, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City in addition to Seoul.
