Sunny Singh returns to co-chair Weil’s restructuring department after the departure of Ray Schrock.

Sunny Singh, a prominent restructuring attorney who left Weil, Gotshal & Manges for Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in March 2023, has returned to Weil, where he will co-chair the firm’s restructuring department, alongside Matt Barr, Gary Holtzer and Jeffrey Saferstein, the firm said Friday. Singh had led Simpson Thacher's U.S. company-side restructuring team.
Weil’s restructuring is Chambers-ranked Band One and has been for years. However, the departure of Ray Schrock, who was a restructuring co-chair at Weil, to Latham & Watkins in late November raised concerns about the practice. Firm chair Barry Wolf said that his very departure is what led the firm to bring in Singh.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
