While Thanksgiving can mean a lot of different things to different people, most can agree it's a time to, well, give thanks. Law.com asked several dealmakers what they were thankful for in 2024, a year that has been much more active, compared with last year, when it comes to transactions.

But before we get to that, a couple of megadeals (more than $5 billion) hit in the last week. That includes sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s (advised by White & Case) getting an $8 billion payday in its sale to Blackstone (guided by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett). Meanwhile, Summit Materials (advised by Davis Polk & Wardwell) bought Quikrete Holdings (represented by Covington & Burling and Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders) for $11.5 billion.
