In a year when Big Law has already been hampered by staff layoffs, law firms will continue to reshape their staffing structure going forward, amid lower demand, rising costs and tightening hybrid work policies, according to a new report.

A majority of law firms surveyed by legal tech company BigHand—63%—say they’re planning to make changes to their support staff structure over the next two years, including centralizing teams and upping secretary-to-lawyer ratios, as well outsourcing.
