Kasowitz Benson Torres has sued Glenn Agre Bergman & Fuentes in New York state court, alleging that the law firm—founded by seven Kasowitz partners in 2021—has taken a disproportionate share of a success fee in a case initiated while the attorneys were still at their prior firm.

The lawsuit, filed on New Year’s Eve, turned on work the attorneys currently at Glenn Agre performed on a lawsuit initiated on behalf of group of lenders, which settled in December. Kasowitz alleged that the Glenn Agre attorneys claimed they were entitled to 95% of the success fee. And according to Kasowitz’s lawsuit, the Glenn Agre attorneys indicated they were willing to accept 90% of the fee in order to resolve the dispute.
