The two top-ranked Am Law firms have taken investment funds partners from each other, with Kirkland & Ellis announcing the rehire of a longtime partner who was most recently at Latham & Watkins and Latham highlighting the pickup of a former Kirkland partner who was founding partner of that firm’s Washington, D.C. investments group.

Jamie Walter, who advises on securities and compliance in connection with fund formation, has represented some of the world’s largest asset managers on regulatory issues and “further cements Latham’s status as a market-leading funds practice,” that firm said today in a release about her arrival.
