The Florida Bar Board of Governors unanimously rejected a special committee’s recommendation allowing nonlawyer ownership in law firms and for lawyers to split fees with nonlawyers.
A news article published by the Florida Bar reported that the 52-member board voted down the findings from the Special Committee to Improve the Delivery of Legal Services at a special meeting on Wednesday. A spokeswoman for the organization declined to provide any additional details Friday.
