A group of law firms from Big Law to local names have come together to form what they are calling the “Carolinas Social Impact Initiative,” a multipronged effort that seeks to tackle systemic racism by improving social and economic mobility among minority communities.

The 24-firm group’s efforts will be split into four parts, the first aimed at supporting minority-owned businesses and enterprises. Lawyers among these firms and others are expected to perform pro bono work on behalf of businesses.
