Shook, Hardy & Bacon is planting its flag in St. Louis, adding a 10-attorney environmental and toxic torts litigation team from Capes Sokol. It’s Shook’s third group acquisition this year from a midsize firm, after opening in New York City in January and acquiring a virtual law firm in March that merged with its Seattle office.

The new group hires include five partners—Drey Cooley, Lisa DeBord, Michael Cromwell, Adam Miller and Sue Werstak—four associates, eight paralegals and medical literature specialists. The Kansas City-founded firm is also adding an of counsel, Daniel Blakey, who is based in Los Angeles.
