Hogan Lovells is downsizing and relocating in Silicon Valley, the latest firm to make real estate changes as it considers a partly remote workforce. The firm is viewing its choices about the design of the new office as a potential template for other U.S. real estate decisions.

In moving from Menlo Park to Redwood City, the firm is going from approximately 35,000 to just under 28,000 square feet, a reduction of over 20%. And while Northern California managing partner Nate Gallon had started thinking about a relocation prior to the start of the pandemic, the new space offers an opportunity to start with a blank canvas.
