Morrison & Foerster has laid off 4% of its U.S. staff and is undergoing a “redundancy consultation review” for its U.K. staff that may result in the elimination of a “handful” more employees, a firm representative said on Monday. Thirty-eight employees have been laid off.

The cuts, first reported by Above the Law, took place Friday. In a statement, the firm representative said the layoffs are due to the “evolving nature of our work” emerging out of the pandemic, which has “accelerated trends” in how the firm supports its practices and physical offices.
