While a growing number of law firms and businesses have cut ties with former President Donald Trump’s businesses in the wake of the Jan. 6 mob attack on the U.S. Capitol, the experience of other firms—most notably Morgan, Lewis & Bockius—suggests that attorney-client relationships cannot be undone with the snap of a finger.

A spokesperson for Morgan Lewis indicated Tuesday that it is working to wrap up its long-running tax work for the former president and his companies.
