Lawyers have long prided themselves on the ability to separate their beliefs from the representation of their clients. But is an increasingly socially conscious young generation eroding those lines?

Recent examples at Am Law 200 firms, including involvement in election litigation reportedly causing discomfort among attorneys at Jones Day and Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, and a rift between Cole Schotz and one of its young lawyers leading to a restraining order, show that in certain situations, lawyers take serious issue with how their firms do business, and word gets out.
