The war for talent is becoming increasingly fierce this fall, as firms continue to seek to set themselves apart. Just look at Latham & Watkins’ latest steps, including its recent partner hires and its decision to match fall bonuses for associates.

Rick Kline, co-chair of Goodwin’s capital markets practice, is expected to move to Latham soon, according to a source familiar with the move. While Latham declined to comment on Kline’s move, it announced on Monday a new project finance partner, David Penna, who came from a government agency, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. The firm last week also brought on a rising star from Proskauer Rose’s sports law practice, Frank Saviano.
