A record 117 law firms have signed on to seek certification under the latest iteration of the Mansfield Rule, demonstrating that the current moment of economic uncertainty has not stopped leaders from signaling a commitment to increasing diversity in their ranks.

By participating in the Mansfield Rule 4.0, overseen by the legal diversity organization Diversity Lab, firms agree to consider at least 30% women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions.
