As economic reforms and anti-corruption efforts spur activity for deal lawyers in Brazil, Paul Hastings is doubling down on its presence in São Paulo by absorbing nearly all of Shearman & Sterling’s practice in the city.
M&A partner Jonathan Kellner, who was the head of Shearman’s Sao Paulo office, and capital markets partner David Flechner will join Paul Hastings in its São Paulo office, along with of counsel Andrea Campos and associates Thomas Ayres, Diana Balassiano and Filipe Lima. Paul Hastings said it expects more attorneys to follow.
