Kathleen Campbell Walker, president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and three other immigration law specialists have joined Texas-based Brown McCarroll’s El Paso, Texas, office to assist multinational companies with customs and immigration issues. The four, Walker, Edward Rios, Lisa Rios and Micaela Guthrie, will focus on business immigration law, consular processing, worksite compliance and employer sanctions, as well as traditional admission, citizenship and naturalization law areas. Walker, head of the 11,000-members AILA, has testified numerous times before state and federal bodies on border security and immigration reform and has served as an expert on national immigration matters. Edward Rios currently serves as El Paso liaison to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and specializes in work site compliance and immigration issues for health care professionals. Lisa Rios focuses on immigration issues confronting domestic and international businesses and individuals. Guthrie handles business and family immigration law, including removal and asylum maters and was managing attorney for the Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center in El Paso. “Successfully navigating the complex issues of global transfers of personnel and goods as well as cross-border business transactions is a great concern for a growing number of our clients in our current marketplace, and we are very pleased to add this depth of experience and recognized skills,” said Bob Werner, Brown McCarroll’s managing partner. The firm, founded in 1938, has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and El Paso, working with clients throughout the Southwest region.
