APPEALS FROM THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF PUERTO RICO [Hon. Juan M. P�rez-Gim�nez, U.S. District Judge]

A jury found that appellant Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company (“Nationwide”) terminated appellees Manual Baralt and Juan Gonzalez-Perez (“Gonzalez”) because of their ages, in violation of both the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, 29 U.S.C. �� 621-634 (“ADEA”), and Puerto Rico Law 100, P.R. Laws Ann. tit. 29, �� 146-51 (“Law 100″). The two men and their wives were awarded a total of more than $6 million in damages and attorney’s fees. See Baralt v. Nationwide Mut. Ins. Co., 86 F. Supp. 31, 42 (D.P.R. 2000). On appeal, Nationwide does not challenge the jury’s determination that the company acted unjustifiably in terminating appellees, but contends that the evidence failed to support a finding of age discrimination. After a careful review of the record and caselaw, we agree, and therefore reverse.
