Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley has fined FedEx Ground Package System Inc. more than $190,000 for intentionally misclassifying 13 drivers as independent contractors instead of employees.
Coakley is also requiring FedEx Ground division of FedEx Corp. to compensate the 13 drivers and remedy the violations, which include: not providing workers’ compensation, not paying overtime and not withholding state income taxes.
