A former women's basketball coach at Fresno State University in California has been awarded $19.1 million in a sexual discrimination lawsuit that alleged she was fired because she advocated for women's rights. After an eight-week trial, jurors deliberated for about four hours before returning their verdict. This is the second judgment against the school in a sexual discrimination lawsuit this year. In July, a jury awarded a former women's volleyball coach Lindy Vivas $5.85 million.

The university argued that Stacy Johnson-Klein was fired because she was abusive, violated NCAA rules and received pain medication from one of her players.
