A news “feeding frenzy” fanned by the Internet about a gruesome carjacking, rape and murder of a young couple will make it impossible for a man charged with sheltering the accused ringleader to get a fair trial in Knoxville, Tenn., his lawyer says.

Seeking to move the federal trial of Eric Dewayne Boyd, 34, defense attorney Philip Lomonaco argues in a legal brief that the case “is one of the most heavily publicized and misreported cases in recent local East Tennessee history.”
