Attorneys, law firms and their clients that were sanctioned by a federal judge for alleged delay of discovery have filed petitions for mandamus with the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to have the sanctions overturned.

Judge James Knoll Gardner of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania sanctioned Daniel B. Huyett and Jeffrey D. Bukowski of Stevens & Lee, John S. Summers of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, and Sandra A. Girifalco of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, on Sept. 28 for deliberate delays of discovery in a case that was filed in 2001.
