Dusa Pharmaceuticals Inc., which makes dermatological products, said Oct. 29 it settled a patent infringement claim with River's Edge Pharmaceuticals LLC regarding Dusa's Nicomide over-the-counter acne medication. River's Edge agreed to make an undisclosed lump-sum settlement payment to Dusa for damages and will permanently cease making, distributing and selling its nicotinamide product, NIC 750. River's Edge will immediately notify drug databases that NIC 750 is no longer available.
