The Brian G. Nichols courthouse shooting case, which started jury selection this week only to get postponed for the fourth time, spiraled further into delay Thursday.

Hours after the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council voted to tell the judge overseeing the trial that it cannot comply with his order to continue funding Nichols’ defense, the judge recused from hearing arguments on the funding issue that were to take place Monday.
