Barclays Global Investors has poached Goldman Sachs legal chief Michael Crowl as its new global general counsel, it was announced Tuesday. Crowl, who will be based in San Francisco, will oversee the global legal and compliance divisions at BGI, one of the world's largest asset management firms. Crowl spent 13 years at Goldman at the investment bank's offices in New York, London and Hong Kong. He was formerly general counsel to the investment banking division as well as being a managing director.
