An employee of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Connecticut, who was seriously injured after a slip-and-fall accident, will be compensated $37,000 annually for the rest of her life following a recent settlement agreement with the company.

Plaintiff Nancy Martino, 44, worked at the Cracker Barrel in Milford, Conn. On Aug. 12, 1999, a sudden fall changed her life. Martino, according to her lawyer, Paul Ganim of The Ganim Law Firm in Bridgeport, Conn., tripped and fell on the kitchen floor all because of a broken tile.
