Georgia’s highest court is set to hear a case on Tuesday brought by a Gwinnett County couple who say they have been trashed by Verizon — or those who use the company’s telephone directories.

Joseph and Marie Patrick sued Verizon Directories Corp. in 2005, complaining that the company had published a telephone directory listing their name, address and telephone number under the heading “DUMPS.” They claim that people began dumping trash and debris on their property and that they began getting calls at all hours wanting to know the costs for dumping.
