Lucinda McDaniel will become the top lawyer for Arkansas State University, marking the first time the school has put an attorney on its staff. The school announced Wednesday that ASU President Les Wyatt had named McDaniel to serve as general counsel. She will join the ASU system office staff Jan. 1. McDaniel has been a partner with the firm of Womack, Landis, Phelps, McNeill and McDaniel since 1989.
