To beef up violent crime prosecutions, U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta in Miami is forming a special 10-lawyer unit to let some of his veterans focus on south Florida’s burgeoning problems of gangs and violent crime.
The unit also would handle child exploitation cases, carjackings and Medicare fraud.
