The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has agreed to decide the fate of the Verizon-MCI merger in the commonwealth.

The court granted allocatur last week in Popowsky v. Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to both the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and Verizon. The commission and the company had appealed a Commonwealth Court ruling that said the commission should either reject the merger or impose conditions that would substantially benefit the public.
