John McKinney, the son of a Connecticut political legend, left a promising law career at Cummings & Lockwood and became a state senator. Now the former commercial litigator is putting his legal mind to work as the new Senate minority leader. And even though Senate Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats 24 to 12, McKinney wants his caucus to be a force within the Legislature. During the just-ended legislative session, he took strong stands on several issues of interest to the legal community.
